Wholesale stationery from independent US makers

Why Stationery is a wholesale marketplace for paper goods — the place shops, studios and businesses stock notepads, list pads, cards and calendars they can put their own name on. Makers list the designs; you order them by the box. Minimums start at 50 pieces and the price per piece steps down as the quantity goes up.

What this is

A marketplace. You browse designs by independent US makers, add your shop's name to one, and order a run of it. The maker prints and ships it.

What this isn't

A print shop. We don't print files you send us — if you have your own finished artwork and just need it produced, a trade printer will serve you better and cheaper.

How volume pricing works

Every wholesale listing carries a ladder of quantity breakpoints, each with its own per-piece price. The rules are enforced when a seller saves the listing, not merely promised: the first breakpoint is the minimum order, each one starts at a larger quantity than the last, and a larger quantity can never cost more per piece than a smaller one.

QuantityPer pieceOrder total
50 – 99$2.40$120 at 50
100 – 249$2.10$210 at 100
250+$1.85$462.50 at 250

An illustration, not a price list — every seller sets their own ladder. The rate that applies is the one attached to the highest breakpoint your quantity reaches, so 249 pieces does not get the 250 rate. It is worth checking the next breakpoint before ordering; the step is often cheaper in total.

What you get

  • Your words on their artwork. Most listings allow light personalization — you set the copy, the maker’s design stays intact. You see it on a live preview of the actual product before you pay.
  • Made in the US, to order. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Each run is printed by the maker who listed it, after you order it, at 300 DPI with 0.125 in bleed.
  • Runs from 50 to 100,000 pieces. Small enough to test a design in your shop, large enough for a season’s stock.
  • Refundable until the press starts. The design-fee model that applies to one-off personalized orders does not apply here. A bulk order is fully refundable right up until the seller begins the run.

Common questions

What is the minimum order?
50 pieces is the platform floor. Individual listings may set a higher minimum — never a lower one — and the minimum is shown on every listing before you order.
Do you print the orders yourselves?
No. Every run is printed by the independent maker who designed and listed it, in their own shop. Why Stationery is the marketplace they sell through, not the press.
Can I put my own shop name on someone’s design?
On most listings, yes — that’s what “light personalization” means: you change the words, the maker’s artwork stays as they built it. Each listing states what you may change, and the artwork itself remains the maker’s.
When can I still cancel?
Any time before the seller starts your print run, for a full refund — even after proofs have gone back and forth. Once production starts the order is non-refundable, because a few hundred pieces carrying your copy can’t be resold. Your order page shows when production began.
What if the order arrives damaged or wrong?
Damaged, defective, wrong and lost orders are covered regardless of production status. If a seller doesn’t answer a pre-shipping cancellation request within 5 business days, we cancel it for a full refund.

The binding version of the cancellation terms is section 3A of the returns and cancellation policy. Why Stationery is operated by Crater Ink Studios LLC and sells within the United States.
