Shipping & Fulfillment
Effective 2026-07-27
Effective date: 2026-07-13 · Version 1.0
Platform operator: Crater Ink Studios LLC, operating the Why Stationery marketplace, 4934 Swamp Rd, Felton, PA 17322, USA. Seller of record for fulfillment: the independent shop ("seller") you ordered from on Why Stationery. Applies to: all orders placed on Why Stationery. Governing law: Pennsylvania. Currency / region: US Dollars; US delivery only.
1. Everything is made to order
Why Stationery does not hold finished stock. Every item — both personalized/custom and standard (non-personalized) — is made to order by the seller after you buy. That means each order has a short make time before it ships; there is no "same-day from the shelf" option. The shop that made your item ships it directly to you.
2. When your order ships
Your ready-to-ship estimate is shown on the listing and on your order page before you pay, and has two stages:
- Proofing — for personalized/custom orders, the seller prepares a proof and communicates with you. The make clock for a custom order starts after you approve your proof.
- Processing — the seller prints and makes your item.
Ready-to-ship time = proofing + processing. Carrier transit time is additional and begins once the seller hands the parcel to the carrier. Estimates are good-faith, not guarantees; a seller may quote a different window on an individual order, and busy periods can add time.
Where a seller offers it, a rush option shortens processing for an extra fee, shown on the listing. Rush does not speed up carrier transit.
If a seller cannot ship within the window it quoted you (or, if no window was quoted, within 30 days of your order), we will let you know and you may cancel that order for a full refund. This right applies whenever a firm ship date cannot be met, and it does not limit the cancellation rights in the Returns, Refunds & Cancellation Policy.
3. Where we ship
We ship to United States addresses only, priced in US Dollars. We do not currently ship internationally or handle customs, duties, or import paperwork.
4. Shipping cost and who pays
Shipping is arranged and paid for as shown at checkout. Return shipping, where a return is allowed, is covered under the Returns, Refunds & Cancellation Policy — as a rule the buyer pays return shipping except where the item arrived damaged or was not what was ordered, in which case the seller covers it.
5. Tracking and delivery
Where tracking is available, the seller provides a tracking number on your order page once the parcel ships. Delivery dates quoted by the carrier are the carrier's estimate, not ours.
6. Correct address is the buyer's responsibility
Please make sure your shipping address is correct before you pay. We are not responsible for orders delayed or lost because of an incorrect or incomplete address. If a parcel is returned to the seller as undeliverable, the seller will contact you to arrange re-shipment; re-shipping costs may apply.
7. Delays, lost parcels, and damage in transit
If your order has not arrived, the order is treated as late once it is 7 days past the carrier's estimated delivery date. From that point you have 7 days to report the non-arrival to us from your order page with your order number — that is, until 14 days past the estimated delivery date. Reporting the moment your order becomes late is fine; the deadline simply gives you a clear window that begins only after the order is actually overdue.
If your order arrives damaged, contact us from your order page within 7 days of delivery, with your order number and a photo of the damage.
Items lost or damaged in transit are covered by the "you are always protected" section of the Returns, Refunds & Cancellation Policy — you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under applicable US federal or Pennsylvania consumer-protection law.
8. Who is responsible for shipping
Each shop on Why Stationery is an independent business responsible for making and shipping its own orders. Why Stationery operates the marketplace, is the merchant of record for payment, and will help mediate a not-delivered or damaged claim between you and a seller, but the seller is the party that fulfills and ships.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version that applied when you placed your order governs that order.
